Ilda Jones Obituary (1919

Sally Jones, age 92, of Carlyle IL (formerly Kinmundy, IL) passed away at 9:10 am on Saturday, March 31, 2012, at the Carlyle Healthcare Center in Carlyle, IL. Sally was born May 12, 1919 in Oskaloosa Township of Clay Coutny, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Liona (Hortenstein) Pickel. She married Fred L. Jones on February 11, 1939 in Marion County, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 14, 1999. Sally was a fathful member of the Brown Christian Church in Kinmundy and enjoyed her time as a homemaker and a loving wife and mother. Sally is survived by sons, Carl Jones of Kinmundy, Harl Jones of Grantfork, and Fred Jones of Xenia; daughters, Phyllis Smith and husband Bill of Tullahoma, Tennessee and Frances Newman of Hoyleton; daughter-in-law, Sharon Jones of Edgewood; 17 Grand Children, 27 Great-Grand Children, and 11 Great-Great-Grand Children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Liona Pickel; husband, Fred Jones; son, Charles Jones; daughter-in-law, Roberta Jones; 4 brothers and 1 sister. Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, Kinmundy, IL. Graveside service will be at Oskaloosa Cemetery at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 2, 2012, Rusty Courson will be officiating. Interment will be at Oskaloosa Cemetery, Xenia, IL. Memorials may be made to the Kinmundy/Alma EMT's or Heartland Hospice of Fairview Heights and will be recieved at the funeral home and during the service.
