Berneta Harmon

Hope Harmon, age 93 of Effingham, entered into the presence of our Lord on Saturday, August 29th, 2015. She was born in Louisville, IL on March 7, 1922 to Harry and Zella (Bible) Abel. Hope married Dave Harmon on April 14, 1947. They moved to Effingham in 1977 from their farm near Bible Grove, IL. Hope and Dave were happily married for forty-nine years until Dave passed away on April 6, 1996. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Effingham for many years. Hope is survived by her son, Rick, daughter-in-law Cindy, and grandson Samuel Harmon of Indianpolis, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters (Bessie O'dell and Cleo Sulsburger) and grandson, Tyler Harmon. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 3rd from 10-11 a.m. at J.W. Neal Funeral Home, 825 Chestnut St., Louisville, IL with services following at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Orchard Hill Cemetery. Hope will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother and faithful friend to all who know her.
